Tracecat
Tracecat's 1.3 alphas keep reworking agent plumbing: tunnels, multi-org MCP, pluggable runners.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Camunda and Nifty — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Camunda opens the 8.11 cycle with job-worker fixes and variable metadata across gRPC, REST and MCP.
Camunda's feed is mostly release plumbing: 8.10 patch candidates, Optimize CVE patches, and dry-run tags. Today's two 8.11.0-alpha1 candidates are the first real content in weeks. They fix job-worker streaming bugs that dropped or stalled work and a batch-cancel bug that could cancel every running root instance in a cluster.
Nifty is widening its MCP server from task access into files, docs, and safe concurrent edits.
Nifty's August digest is dominated by MCP expansion one month after the server shipped. Assistants can now upload a file from a path or URL, create and file Docs with visibility control, and attach or detach them from tasks; large document reads dropped from minutes to roughly a second, and a conflict check stops an assistant overwriting a teammate's later edit. Reporting also gained funnel charts, percentage number widgets, and a large speedup on twelve-month reports.

8.11 is leaning toward operational hardening for managed and multi-region setups: cluster secrets, an upgrade-completeness API, per-index shard config, and Oracle Data Guard lag monitoring. The variablesMetadata work lands on the MCP surface at the same time as gRPC and REST, so MCP is being treated as a first-class API rather than an add-on.
Expect more 8.11 alpha candidates on a near-daily cadence, alongside continued 8.10.x patch tags. Whether 8.11 has a headline feature is not yet visible in these notes.

The MCP server is clearly Nifty's main investment, and the August work is about making it fast and safe enough for real use rather than extending what it can reach. The concurrency guard is the notable detail: it treats an assistant as one writer among several, which is the problem every multi-agent workspace eventually hits. Distribution through the Microsoft 365 Copilot admin center aims the same capability at buyers who would never configure an MCP client themselves.
Expect the MCP surface to keep absorbing the remaining object types and Nifty to lean harder on admin-center distribution, with reporting performance work continuing behind it.
