Papertrail's most significant product change in years: a rebuilt checklist engine with conditional logic and structured sections, launched September 2026.
Papertrail has shipped a rebuilt checklist interface with conditional logic — structured sections with user-controlled ordering, typed question responses (date, multiple choice), and form branching based on answers. This is the feature showcased in the September 2026 webinar, described internally as the biggest product change in years. Recent entries are primarily webinar announcements and a scheduled maintenance window; the product operates a monthly product spotlight series to drive feature adoption.
Rize ships its biggest release: a redesign, a web app, and an AI agent that sits across every view.
Rize is now an agency operations platform built on automatic time tracking, and its October 20 release rebuilds the product around that identity. A new design system and table-based views replace the old layout, a web app joins the desktop client, and meetings, labels and workspace defaults all gain team-level controls. The Rize AI agent now reaches dashboards, people, clients and projects through @mentions, and runs on schedules through Routines.

Papertrail has been incrementally expanding its inspection management capabilities: Schedule Manager (June), Universal Search on mobile (April), and new navigation UX. The checklist logic launch is the most architecturally significant change — moving from flat inspection forms to conditional, sectioned workflows. This positions Papertrail to compete for regulated-industry workflows where audit trails and form-conditional logic are table stakes.
The conditional checklist logic is likely to be extended with more response types and branching conditions as adoption data comes in. The 'new navigation' and design refresh suggest a broader UX modernization in progress, which may culminate in a more substantial platform update in Q4.

The August agency suite added the billing and margin layer; this release makes the agent the way users move through that layer. Saved dashboards, AI reports and scheduled Routines turn tracked time into something the agent queries and acts on, rather than a log a person reads. Meeting transcripts from Fathom and Granola, plus AI-assigned labels, push more of the categorization work off the user and onto automation.
Expect Meetings to leave beta and more transcript or calendar sources to follow, since that page is the only beta in an otherwise shipped release. Whether the web app reaches parity with desktop tracking is unclear from these entries.
