Small, customer-requested fixes all summer — then the first automation engine.

Current state
DoneDone ships in a tight loop with users: reorderable checklist items, tags in CSV exports, collapsible Kanban columns, more board sort fields, and activity feeds that hide status noise by default. Several entries name the customer request that prompted them. On August 7 the pattern broke with Workflow Automations, the first release in this window that adds behavior rather than tidying existing behavior.
Where it's heading
The through-line is reducing friction in a board people already live in, and Workflow Automations extends that logic one step: instead of a cleaner view of manual work, the status change itself now sets due dates and attaches checklist templates. Checklist Templates got management improvements in July and are the object of the new automation in August, which suggests templates are being built up as the standardization primitive the product organizes around.
Prediction
The automation surface starts narrow — two actions on one trigger — so the obvious next steps are more triggers than status change and more actions such as assignment or notification. The customer-request cadence in these entries suggests those will arrive in the same incremental way.

    New: Workflow Automations!

The first automation in the product: moving a task or conversation into a status can now set a due date and attach Checklist Templates. It is a narrow trigger-and-action pair rather than a general rules engine, but it converts the templates work from earlier in the summer into something that runs without a person.

    Include tags in CSV exports!

Tags are included when exporting tasks and conversations to CSV, shipped straight from a customer request. Minor, and typical of how this product's backlog gets set.

Checklist Templates just got a little easier to manage.

Checklist items can be dragged into order before a template is saved. Small on its own, but it is the groundwork that makes templates worth automating three weeks later.

    Kanban Collapse Columns

Kanban columns can be collapsed to hide completed or low-activity stages. A view-density fix in the same family as the sort options and the activity-feed change around it.

Actions Are Now Hidden by Default

Status changes and assignments are hidden from activity feeds by default, leaving the Comments tab to comments. A default-setting change with the full history still available behind a toggle.

New Kanban Sort Options are Here ✔️

Kanban boards gain sorting by updated, created, due date, title, assignee, priority and custom fields. A real expansion of how teams can organize a board, and part of the same view-control run as the collapsible columns.
