ESPHome 2026.10.1 follows the .0 by six days with OTA, MQTT and codegen fixes.

◆Current state
ESPHome shipped 2026.10.1 on Oct 27, six days after 2026.10.0. The patch keeps the OTA watchdog timeout on ESP32 hosted coprocessors, resends a fan's MQTT state when the first publish fails, fixes generated C++ for infinite floats, and handles version-less library dependencies the way PlatformIO does. 2026.10.0 itself rolled up six betas of ESP-IDF 6.1 groundwork, audio tuning and RAM savings.
◆Where it's heading
The monthly train is predictable: about three weeks of betas, a .0, then a .1 patch within two weeks. The focus this cycle was memory footprint on constrained chips and preparing for ESP-IDF 6.1, and the .1 is cleanup of codegen and build edge cases.
◆Prediction
Expect the 2026.11 betas to start in early November, likely carrying more ESP-IDF 6.1 migration, and possibly a 2026.10.2 if more regressions surface.

    The standard post-release patch arrives on schedule with fixes for OTA on hosted coprocessors, MQTT fan state, generated C++ edge cases and ccache builds. Nothing new for users beyond the fixes.

    ESPHome 2026.10 beta 6 fixes RP2040 OTA, trims web server stack

    Beta 6 is three small changes: a device-builder bump, an RP2040 OTA fix for unknown image sizes and lower stack use in the IDF web server. Late-cycle fixes like these usually come just before the monthly .0.

    ESPHome 2026.10 beta 5 readies ESP-IDF 6.1 and adds TCP-UART entities

    Beta 5 matches 2026.9's five-beta pattern and is mostly ESP-IDF 6.1 groundwork plus small fixes, with minor additions such as USB UART interface metadata and TCP-UART connection entities. The .0 tag should be next.

    ESPHome 2026.10 beta 4 fixes RP2350 PIO, rejects ESP8266 WPA3

    Beta 4 is small: PIO programs now run on RP2350, ESP8266 rejects unsupported WPA3 configs up front, microFLAC moves to 0.3.0 and nRF52 accepts S140 7.2 and 7.3. Late-cycle fixes that point to the .0 release soon.

    ESPHome 2026.10 beta 3 trims RAM on ESP8266 and fixes CAN bus crashes

    Beta 3 is footprint and stability work: flash-resident tables, numeric scheduler ids, a CAN bus crash fix at high frame rates and several nRF52 build fixes. It fits the cycle's pattern of keeping older chips viable while newer silicon gets the features; the one breaking change is limited to teleinfo users.
