RankMath is rebuilding WordPress SEO around AI assistants reading the site directly

wordpressseomcpai-visibilityschemalink-building
Current state
RankMath ships a biweekly point release on a fixed calendar, and beneath the routine fix lists two deliberate builds are underway. The first is an MCP tool surface that lets an AI assistant query a site's links, schema, and keyword positions directly; the second is AI Visibility, which tracks how a brand appears inside AI platforms rather than in search results. The most recent releases have gone quiet on both, returning to bugfixes across News Sitemap, Schema Templates, and the Link Genius module.
Where it's heading
The plugin is repositioning from ranking-in-Google tooling to instrumentation for a search layer where AI systems are the reader. MCP tools arrived in v3.0.114 and have been extended in almost every release since — link reports, post links, schema retrieval, then keyword position trends — which is the pattern of a surface being filled in methodically rather than a one-off announcement. Content AI's move from credits to per-feature monthly limits points the same direction: AI usage becoming a standing part of the product rather than a metered add-on.
Prediction
Expect the MCP tool set to keep expanding into write operations or content actions, and AI Visibility to gain more platform coverage or reporting depth in the next few releases.

Fixes for News Sitemap, Schema Templates, Link Genius

Three bugfixes: a blank News Sitemap settings page, Schema Template display conditions not applying until manual save, and a Composer autoload casing mismatch that could break Link Genius on case-sensitive filesystems. Housekeeping between the larger AI builds.

Email report table and Link Genius tooltip fixes

A table header width fix in Email SEO Reports and a z-order fix for AI Link Genius tooltips. Cosmetic cleanup with no functional change.

MCP keyword tool now returns position trends

The get-top-keywords MCP tool now annotates tracked keywords as winning, losing, or stable, so an assistant reading the site gets direction rather than a raw snapshot. A steady extension of the MCP surface that opened in v3.0.114, alongside Link Genius and Schema import fixes.

AI Visibility tracks brand presence across AI platforms

    ⚡ SPARK

AI Visibility monitors how a brand shows up across major AI platforms, extending RankMath's measurement surface past search rankings. It pairs with the MCP tooling as the reporting half of the same bet: that AI systems, not just crawlers, decide who gets found.

Three more MCP tools expose links and schema

New MCP tools return site-wide link statistics, per-post internal and external links, and full schema markup including PRO-only types. This is the MCP surface from v3.0.114 being filled out, moving an assistant from summary access toward the underlying structured data.

MCP tools let AI assistants read the site's SEO data

    ⚡ SPARK

RankMath MCP Tools open the plugin's SEO data to AI assistants, alongside a Marketplace for one-click access to third-party tools. This is the originating release of the MCP arc that every subsequent version has extended.
