What is Casdoor?

Casdoor is spending its release cadence moving auth checks from the client to the server

Casdoor is in a tight patch cadence: six tagged releases inside a week, most carrying a single commit. The substance is concentrated in identity enforcement rather than features - password rotation and MFA setup are now enforced server-side, admin updates to a user respect the column whitelist, sessions and tokens are revoked when a user is forbidden, and phone numbers are normalised before they are stored. The remainder is release plumbing and a PostgreSQL query fix.

What is rsyslog?

The syslog daemon on every Linux box now collects Kubernetes logs itself

rsyslog's August scheduled-stable snapshot adds imkubernetes, an input module that tails pod and container logs directly, handles CRI and Docker json-file records, merges partial CRI lines, and enriches from the Kubernetes API. It lands alongside a segmented disk-assisted queue engine that becomes the default for new stores, a CloudWatch Logs output module, and generic per-action rate limiting in drop or pace mode.

Casdoor is spending its release cadence moving auth checks from the client to the server

◆ Current state

Casdoor is in a tight patch cadence: six tagged releases inside a week, most carrying a single commit. The substance is concentrated in identity enforcement rather than features - password rotation and MFA setup are now enforced server-side, admin updates to a user respect the column whitelist, sessions and tokens are revoked when a user is forbidden, and phone numbers are normalised before they are stored. The remainder is release plumbing and a PostgreSQL query fix.

◆ Where it's heading

Read together, these commits describe one job: closing the gap between what the console enforces and what the backend enforces. Several of them move a check that previously lived in the UI into the server, which is the work of a project being deployed into environments that audit it. New authentication providers and integrations have thinned relative to this hardening pass.

◆ Prediction

The next releases most likely continue the same sweep - remaining endpoints where an admin or user request is trusted more than the server verifies - rather than adding a new identity provider.

The syslog daemon on every Linux box now collects Kubernetes logs itself

◆ Current state

rsyslog's August scheduled-stable snapshot adds imkubernetes, an input module that tails pod and container logs directly, handles CRI and Docker json-file records, merges partial CRI lines, and enriches from the Kubernetes API. It lands alongside a segmented disk-assisted queue engine that becomes the default for new stores, a CloudWatch Logs output module, and generic per-action rate limiting in drop or pace mode.

◆ Where it's heading

Three consecutive snapshots have pushed rsyslog out of its role as a local relay and toward being a full pipeline component: YAML config and native OpenTelemetry protobuf in April, an Elastic Beats input in June, a Kubernetes-native input now. The queue rewrite and rate limiting point at the same target, since those are the properties an edge collector needs to survive backpressure rather than what a syslog relay needs.

◆ Prediction

Expect the next snapshot to harden imkubernetes against the operational cases the notes already hedge on, particularly ServiceAccount token refresh and API failover, and to push more deployments onto segmented queues by default.
