The automation engine keeps gaining expressiveness: per-channel rate limits in early August, and now a Wait Until block that accepts multiple delays, time windows, and And/Or/nested condition groups. Separately the AI agent moved into Slack, while messaging reach grew with transactional WhatsApp and support for multiple mobile apps in one workspace.

n8n 3.0 is out, shipped the same morning as 2.46 after weeks of migration-report groundwork.
n8n published 3.0.0 and 2.46.0 within five minutes on October 27, with nearly identical fix lists covering agent runtime, Assistant execution redaction, queue-worker locking and stream cleanup.
