The ESM transition fits that: tree-shakable output matters to the teams shipping it inside their own products. With no releases captured in over a year, this source no longer says anything about current activity, which more likely reflects the crawl target than the project.

Since the chat-first preview on October 21, each release has moved more of the product onto structured queries that agents can use safely, and away from raw SQL. Admin and integration tooling (upsert, complexity assessment, MCP pagination) is now arriving to support larger workspaces built this way.

Expect strict mode to tighten toward a default and the remaining query gaps, such as cross-project relations and sorting by to-many fields, to close next.
