RStudio's first October patch is a branch merge, extending a long run of release-train upkeep.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of HyperDX and NocoDB — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
HyperDX 2.42 lets dashboards be authored from the CLI and adds an MCP service-health report.
The 2.42 release train adds dashboard and saved-search authoring to the hdx CLI (list, export, create, import, round-trip JSON), returns PromQL tiles through the external dashboards API, and gives the MCP server a one-call per-service health report. The app moves alert editing into a side panel next to the chart and adds a content font size setting; the collector can now send PromQL remote-write over HTTPS.
NocoDB lets MCP clients connect by signing in and adds workflow run playback in 2026.10.0.
NocoDB ships a monthly release. In September MCP moved from the Claude connector directory to an account-wide agent surface. 2026.10.0 lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients connect by signing in, with no token to copy and no more access than the user's own role. It also adds step-through playback and pause/resume/retry for workflow runs, button-triggered automations, workload views in Timeline, and renames Interfaces to classic apps under a new Apps menu.

HyperDX is making its dashboards and alerts manageable outside the UI, through the CLI, the API and MCP tools, while PromQL becomes a full citizen next to ClickHouse logs and traces. Ad hoc dashboard filters and OTel event-name fields are being laid down for later use.
Expect MCP dashboard tools to gain PromQL tile editing and the new event-name and severity fields to start driving log views.

Agent access is now the product's spine: three releases in a row have widened what MCP clients can reach and how easily they connect, while workflows gain the observability expected of an automation tool. Renaming Interfaces to classic apps, plus a prompt box on the new project page when NocoAI is on, suggests a newer app layer is coming that the release doesn't describe yet.
Expect the non-classic Apps builder, likely prompt-driven via NocoAI, to be introduced in a coming release. The entries don't show its scope or plan tiering.
