Jackett vs Sentry

Jackett vs Sentry: at a glance
What is Jackett?
Jackett ships a daily build to keep hundreds of torrent indexers working as sites move and close.
Jackett is an open-source proxy that turns hundreds of torrent tracker sites into a single Torznab API for media automation tools. It ships an auto-generated release roughly every day, and nearly every one is indexer upkeep: new domains, category mappings, selector fixes after site redesigns, and removing dead trackers.
What is Sentry?
Sentry is pushing past collection into interpretation, with Seer and AI-generated dashboards.
Two AI surfaces now anchor the changelog: the Seer agent in open beta and an AI dashboard-generation beta. Underneath, the platform keeps broadening ingestion and alerting — metrics reach .NET and Unity, logs reach Kotlin Multiplatform, uptime monitors gain alert configuration, metrics beta gains alerting, and Alerts is splitting into Monitors and Alerts. Size Analysis and org-level Data Forwarding reached GA.

Jackett
5.0INFRA · APIS
Jackett ships a daily build to keep hundreds of torrent indexers working as sites move and close.
◆ Current state
Jackett is an open-source proxy that turns hundreds of torrent tracker sites into a single Torznab API for media automation tools. It ships an auto-generated release roughly every day, and nearly every one is indexer upkeep: new domains, category mappings, selector fixes after site redesigns, and removing dead trackers.
◆ Where it's heading
The work is entirely maintenance. Its value depends on keeping up with a tracker ecosystem where sites change domains and layouts weekly. Where possible, the project is moving definitions to sturdier integrations, such as switching world-of-tomorrow to its Torznab API and retiring trackers that moved to direct downloads.
◆ Prediction
Expect the daily cadence to continue, with more trackers moved to API-based definitions and more dead sites removed. Core changes stay rare.
Sentry
0.0INFRA · APISDEVOPS
Sentry is pushing past collection into interpretation, with Seer and AI-generated dashboards.
◆ Current state
Two AI surfaces now anchor the changelog: the Seer agent in open beta and an AI dashboard-generation beta. Underneath, the platform keeps broadening ingestion and alerting — metrics reach .NET and Unity, logs reach Kotlin Multiplatform, uptime monitors gain alert configuration, metrics beta gains alerting, and Alerts is splitting into Monitors and Alerts. Size Analysis and org-level Data Forwarding reached GA.
◆ Where it's heading
The consistent direction is reducing the setup and expertise required before a signal becomes visible. Generating dashboards and answering questions about the app are both attacks on the same cost: the engineer who has to know what to build before they can see anything. Meanwhile SDK and alerting coverage keeps filling in as table stakes.
◆ Prediction
Look for the AI surfaces to converge — Seer and generated dashboards becoming one investigation path rather than two features — and for the Monitors/Alerts split to settle into clearer routing.
