Total Hours changes what a booking is — an amount of work to be placed rather than a block a human placed — which points the product at constraint solving rather than manual arrangement. The MCP server makes the same schedule queryable by assistants instead of only viewable in the UI. The smaller features are consistent with both: placeholders, custom fields, and colour rules are all ways of encoding intent that a solver or an assistant can act on.
