Open source HR and payroll software

Frappe HR spends October tightening permissions and payroll edge cases on both v15 and v16.

◆Current state
Frappe HR is in a hardening phase. v16.52.0 lets regional payroll rules add employer contributions to salary slips after structure contributions, and fixes a run of permission errors in expense claims, check-ins, holidays and tax declarations. The v15 line gets matching access checks and a fix for mobile check-outs recorded as check-ins.
◆Where it's heading
After guided setup for HR-only sites in 16.50, the releases since have been payroll accuracy and permission fixes, with v15 backports following v16 within days. The new regional employer-contribution hook suggests localized payroll is the next feature area.
◆Prediction
Expect more country-specific payroll rules built on the new employer-contribution hook, alongside continued v15 backports.

    v15.64.7

A v15 bundle of validation and report fixes (zero-amount advances blocked, utilization counting only submitted timesheets, Goal tree company filter) plus right-to-left layout support in the HRMS web app. It keeps v15 users close to v16's correctness work, and the RTL support widens language coverage.

Frappe HR 16.52: regional employer contributions, permission fixes

Adds a hook for regional payroll rules to apply employer contributions after the salary structure runs, and fixes permission errors that blocked employees from their own holidays, approvers and tax declarations. Expense claims can now be filed for others by users with write access. It continues the payroll-accuracy work of 16.51 and opens a path for localized payroll.

v15.64.6: access checks across employee, leave and payroll data

A v15 security-oriented release that adds access checks on employee data, leave, expenses, uploads and salary slips, and validates attendance, leave expiry and shift changes before processing. A mobile check-out bug is also fixed. Teams still on v15 get meaningful hardening, not just a backport.

v15 backport: leave caps respect multi-period allocations

A single v15 backport: the maximum-leave check now uses the allocation's own date range when it spans several leave periods, so other periods' allocations no longer count against the cap. Another leave-calculation edge case closed on the maintenance line.

Frappe HR 16.51: half-day holiday payroll fixes, faster leave report

A dense fix bundle that tightens payroll math: half-day holidays now count as half a working day, conditional components like Leave Without Pay appear on salary slips, and false-condition accrued benefits are skipped. It also speeds up the Employee Leave Balance report and opens new HR trial sites on HR Setup, extending the v16.50 onboarding push.

v15 backport: blocks half-day requests on full leave days

Two attendance-request fixes backported to the v15 line, matching a fix in v16.51.0. Maintenance for users who have not moved to v16.
