Copilot is moving from a per-seat add-on with a model picker to a default layer of GitHub itself. Routing replaces model choice, bundling replaces a second purchase decision, and Automations plus Agentic Workflows move agents from individual sessions into team-owned, triggered processes. The October 26 work on assisted permissions and cheaper agent models was the groundwork for this.

Growth now depends on those surfaces rather than on convincing people to change their default search engine.
