Pixelfed vs Trumpia: at a glance
What is Pixelfed?
Pixelfed 0.15.2 ships the PHP RCE patches and turns cached timelines on for everyone.
Pixelfed v0.15.2 is an urgent security update: Docker images pick up the patched PHP for this month's two remote code execution CVEs and are rebuilt with updated CAs after the eMudhra compromise. It also makes cached timelines the default, removing two experimental flags, and bundles timeline and WebFinger fixes.
What is Trumpia?
Trumpia's feed is an SMS marketing blog with no product releases in it.
Every recent entry is educational or promotional content about SMS marketing — campaign prerequisites, KPI lists, an emoji guide, opt-in psychology, RCS-to-SMS instructions. None describes a change to the Trumpia product. One post appears twice under the same title with slightly reworked text.

5.0COMMS

◆ Current state
Pixelfed v0.15.2 is an urgent security update: Docker images pick up the patched PHP for this month's two remote code execution CVEs and are rebuilt with updated CAs after the eMudhra compromise. It also makes cached timelines the default, removing two experimental flags, and bundles timeline and WebFinger fixes.
◆ Where it's heading
Pixelfed has moved quickly through 0.14.5 and 0.15 with federation fixes and new APIs, and now an upstream security patch. The notes say heavy refactoring will continue toward a Nuxt-based web UI, so the near term is more churn in the front end.
◆ Prediction
Expect more 0.15.x patches for regressions from the refactor, with the Nuxt web UI as the next visible milestone.
Trumpia
5.0COMMS
Trumpia's feed is an SMS marketing blog with no product releases in it.
◆ Current state
Every recent entry is educational or promotional content about SMS marketing — campaign prerequisites, KPI lists, an emoji guide, opt-in psychology, RCS-to-SMS instructions. None describes a change to the Trumpia product. One post appears twice under the same title with slightly reworked text.
◆ Where it's heading
This is a content-marketing channel rather than a changelog, so it carries no signal about where the product is heading. The consistent editorial theme is defending SMS against social media and RCS as a reach channel, which indicates where Trumpia positions commercially rather than what it is building.
◆ Prediction
The feed will keep producing SEO content on SMS marketing fundamentals. Any read on product direction would have to come from a different source than this one.
