What is Backlinko?
Backlinko's publishing has slowed to a trickle, and every post is about being visible to models.
Backlinko is a content property, not a product with a changelog, and its feed is a stream of SEO guides. The subject matter has narrowed sharply: prompt tracking, digital PR for AI visibility, query fan-out, topical authority in AI search, agentic search. Publishing cadence has thinned considerably - one post since late July, against a run of several a month in spring.
What is Swello?
Swello's comment and DM inbox is in beta as content marketing fills the feed.
Swello is a French social media scheduling tool whose changelog mixes product releases with marketing. The newest entry announces its 2027 Social Media Calendar of more than 450 dates in PDF, .ics and print, after a podcast episode and a webinar replay earlier in October. The last product release added 3:4 Instagram posts and CSV export of posts, and confirmed the comment and DM inbox is in beta.
Backlinko vs Swello: editorial side-by-side
Backlinko
5.0MARKETING
Backlinko's publishing has slowed to a trickle, and every post is about being visible to models.
◆ Current state
Backlinko is a content property, not a product with a changelog, and its feed is a stream of SEO guides. The subject matter has narrowed sharply: prompt tracking, digital PR for AI visibility, query fan-out, topical authority in AI search, agentic search. Publishing cadence has thinned considerably - one post since late July, against a run of several a month in spring.
◆ Where it's heading
The editorial line has converged on a single question: whether a brand appears, and appears accurately, inside model answers rather than in a ranked list. Prompt tracking is the operational form of that question, and it is where the recent posts point - measurement first, tactics second. Whether the slowdown in output is seasonal or structural is not visible from the feed alone.
◆ Prediction
Expect continued coverage of AI visibility measurement rather than classic ranking tactics; the entries do not support a confident read on whether publishing frequency recovers.
Swello
5.0MARKETING
Swello's comment and DM inbox is in beta as content marketing fills the feed.
◆ Current state
Swello is a French social media scheduling tool whose changelog mixes product releases with marketing.
◆ Where it's heading
Swello is building toward team and agency workflows: post approval, then comments on drafts, then CSV export for reporting, with some features reserved for the Large plan. The unified inbox in beta moves it from publishing into engagement management, while the changelog doubles as a channel for its podcast, webinars and guides.
◆ Prediction
The likeliest next release is the inbox leaving beta. The AI features mentioned in September have not shipped, and the entries give no timing for them.
