Document360 vs Wiki.js: editorial side-by-side

D5.0

Document360's Eddy AI now summarizes what changed between article versions.

◆ Current state

Document360 ships a knowledge-base release roughly every week, with its Eddy AI assistant in most of them. 12.10.2 adds AI summaries of differences between article versions, customizable reader feedback options, per-widget link behaviour settings and a central Engage dashboard to reuse and localize guides and videos. The prior release added source citations to Eddy AI answers and consolidated SSO setup.

◆ Where it's heading

Eddy AI is spreading from the reader-facing chatbot into the authoring and review workflow, with analytics, citations and now change summaries. Engage is being built out as a separate asset layer of guides and videos with its own localization and credit-based AI voiceovers.

◆ Prediction

Expect more AI help in the review and publishing flow, such as approvals or suggested fixes driven by version summaries.

6.3

Wiki.js 3.0 beta ships an MCP server so AI agents can work against the wiki directly.

◆ Current state

Wiki.js 3.0 is still a beta not meant for production, but beta.705 adds a built-in MCP server, refined personal access token scopes, page lifecycle rules with page ownership, a feedback board where reviewers manage ideas, and link completion in the markdown editor. Recent betas added live notes, math, access tokens, SCIM and Excalidraw collaboration.

◆ Where it's heading

Each beta adds a piece that larger teams need: SSO and SCIM, governance through ownership and lifecycle rules, and now machine access through MCP and scoped tokens. 3.0 is becoming an AI-accessible knowledge base with enterprise controls rather than a straight successor to 2.x.

◆ Prediction

Expect MCP tools to be tied to the new PAT scopes and page rules, and the beta cadence to keep adding governance features before a release candidate.
